Whiskey and Donuts provides a unique glimpse into the creative process of this band. This album was the first effort from the Boys Choir. Written and recorded during one weekend in 2002, it captures the spontaneity and hilarity of a Boys Choir studio session, sometimes referred to as "Guerrilla Recording". Most songs consisted of two run-throughs while writing, and one recorded take. Overdubs and corrections were kept to a minimum. If it didn't get on tape during that take, then it usually didn't get there.
